At its October meeting, Council rescinded the Policy on Active Practice Requirements (APR). In place of this policy, the Registration Committee has approved a new operational process for administering the active practice requirements as outlined in the Registration Regulation.
The College of Midwives of Ontario’s revised Second Birth Attendant Standard came into effect on October 1, 2018. All members are now required to follow the revised standard and should be familiar with the changes.

All midwives are required to be up-to-date with their registration, Active Practice Reports, and Quality Assurance Program (QAP) Requirements. The period for renewal and for submitting reports starts August 1, and continues to October 1, 2018.

At its June meeting, the College of Midwives of Ontario Council voted to amend the Fees and Remuneration By-law. Fees will be increased to $2150 for general class of registration and $1075 for inactive class of registration, effective for this year’s renewal. Following this year’s increase, fees will then go up with inflation, at 2% per year.
