College launches its online public register

On June 4, 2009, amendments to the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991, came into effect. To meet the new requirements, the College created its online Public Register, and reorganized its statutory committees, creating a single Inquiries, Complaints, and Reports Committee. The public register is is a complete listing of midwives that have been registered with the College. Its purpose is to provide clients and the public with information about Ontario midwives, which may assist them in deciding who to choose for their care.
